Match Report
27 September 2015 / Team News

Depleted side come away with a good win.

With players unavailable through work commitments and holidays the team was a very different one that played against Pontycymmer some two weeks ago with 8 changes. To their credit Pontycymmer turned up with only 15 players and no props and asked for passive scrums from the off. After 7 minutes we took the lead when scrum half Jonathan Howells scored from a scrum and Ben Evans converted. It took a little while for our second score when Evans slotted a well struck penalty from 30 meters, this was the final score of the half.

With the second half only a minuet old prop Steven Lewis collected a clearance kick to feed evergreen second row Nigel Cook on half way he took off like greyhound to beat all defenders in front of him to score at the posts but Evans missed the easy conversion. With a injury to our outside half Dan Isherwood we introduced young Aaron Loveday who was next to score when he collected a pass on half way to glide passed three defenders to score at the posts this time Evans was successful with the conversion. On the 60th minuet mark second row Rhys Harris bull dosed his way across for a try which again the conversion was wide of the mark. With injuries coming thick and fast like the Welsh team later the game lost some shape and no more scores came and the game finished with a score of 27pts to nil in our favour. We now look forward to the next round of the cup which will be drawn this week.

No game for the first XV next week as it is our turn to have a free week but we will hope to arrange a second XV game keep posted for details on here and Facebook.
