Down again.

We traveled to Crynant buoyant after last weeks win hoping for our second away win of the season but it was not to be. We started very well but we failed to make the most of our early pressure. A couple of missed directed forward passes and two poor penalty kicks at goal cost us.  But after 15 minutes a great move saw us attack in numbers we were stopped close to the line but wing Ben Evans was on hand to take the final pass to score under the posts which he converted to put us 7 points up. But our lead was short lived when the Crynant scrum half who was the best player on the field made a break from inside his own half and after a couple of phases the crossed for a converted try. Both teams attacked at every opportunity but we must have thought that the sun would allow us to play like the BaaBaa's and throw the ball around Willy nilly and this cost us a few scoring opportunities which came back to haunt us. With the first half coming to a close Crynant scored their second converted try.

The second half was very much like the first half with both teams having a ball but again our final pass was a let down. Crynant were the first to score with a penalty to increase their lead to ten points. We then lost our scrum half Marcus Atyeo to injury which disrupted us. From a poor clearance kick the big Crynant left wing gathered the ball and raced away for another converted try, at this point we then lost our wing Evans. Coach Steve Lewis then entered the game and from his first touch at a line-out some 5 meters he was driven over for a try which we again failed to convert. With the game going into the last minute we pressed for a try to even up the score's but another dropped ball saw the Crynant scrum half go on a run and feed the centre to score under the posts for a bonus point try which they converted.

No game next week but we play Vardre RFC at Ynyscorrwg  Park on 22nd April kick off 2-30pm.
