BONUS POINT WIN TAKES US OUT OF A RELEGATION SPOT.

With a good bonus point win over opponents that put 50 points over us in the earlier fixture at Bryncoch that took us out of the relegation zone and lets hope we can stay there has we visit fellow strugglers Pontycymmer next and we also have to travel to promotion contenders Swansea Uplands and then Abercrave visit us when we can agree a date. Both teams played the game has it should be played and they threw the ball around. Within 5 minutes we took the lead with a try by young hooker Jamie Williams which went unconverted it came from a good attack up the left and Williams cantered in from 25 yards. We seemed to have the upper hand for most of the first half but Bryncoch did attack well when they had the chance but some good defence kept them out.  Bryncoch then had a penalty to cut our lead to 2 points. We had a couple of chances to extend our lead but failed to take advantage until the final minute of the half when outside half Rhodri Milsom cross under the posts for a easy conversion by Ben Evans for a 12pts to 3 half time lead.

The second half started and we went on the attack and had a few chances captain Nathan Down dropped the ball over the line after a good break by Rhys Milsom and again we crossed the line but failed to ground the ball.  After two injuries to our flankers Tamlin & Bevan were replaced by Ryan (Tank) Williams and Keegan Tomlinson we increased the lead with a try by the Tank under the posts for Evans to convert. We then scored our bonus point try by wing Steffan Hnatiuk who was make a rare appearance back with us on permit from Maesteg and Evans then converted the try.We then looked has if we were running out of steam and Bryncoch put us under some pressure and they managed to get two trys one which was converted. With time running out it looked as if they scored again they would get a bonus point or even win the game. Going into the final quarter we then had Rhodri Milsom yellow carded for playing the ball in a offside position but the boys rallied and won a penalty with only minutes left and Evans stroked the ball through the middle for the final score for a great win for us.
