Good win against Division 1 East team.

In our second Pre-Season friendly we entertained Division 1 East club Dinas Powys. After all the warm weather we kicked off on a wet day and the continuous drizzle did not stop all game. In the first period the Dinars scrum caused us a few problems but they levelled out but Dinars scrum did look the more powerful thoughout the game. Dinas took the lead with a try by their powerful centre converted by their outside half. During the second period we hit back with a good individual try scrum half Jonathan Howells which went unconverted we then went into the lead through a penalty by Centre Nathan Healy but Dinas hit back and took the lead with a unconverted try. Going into the third period with everything to play for we cut the lead to 1 point with another penalty from Healy. After some good pressure we then scored our second try when Healy scored after beating a few defenders and he also added the the extra points with a fine conversion. Both teams threw the ball about in wet conditions and Glyncorrwg coach Gavin Thomas must be proud of his boys who have played two division 1 teams and have acquitted themselves well and thing look good for the league season.

We know look forward to playing Division 2 West central club Nantymoel on Thursday 23rd August at Ynyscorrwg Park kick off 6-30 and on Saturday 25th August Neath Athletic at Ynyscorrwg Park kick off 2-30pm in the Andrew Vaughan Memorial game. We are looking to win this game for the first time in 3 years. All support Welcome for both games.
