Precious bonus point

We travelled down to Baglan for our final away game of the season and came away with a losing bonus point and with two home games remaining we need one win to see us safe in this division. Baglan kicked off in bright sunsine and the early exchanges were even but after 15 minites Baglan took the lead with a unconverted try out wide by their left wing. We then hit back with a penalty from full back Ben Evans but our host's then scored a second try. Again we cut their lead with another penalty from Evans. We were then unlucky not to take the lead when outsidehalf Rhodri Milsom broke through and got to the line but his pass was knocked to ground by a Baglan Player then we knocked on in the act of grounding the ball. From the resulting scrum we drove Baglan back and they failed to clear the ball when we charged the ball down, but the referee made a mistake in Law when he awarded a drop out to restart the game. Baglan then increased the lead with a penalty and another unconverted try. But we were always in the game and were a little unlucky not to score a couple of tries ourselves when we looked to off load at the wrong times.

With Baglan playing down the slope they increased their lead with the first try of the second half. We made a couple of changes in the pack and began to get more pressure on the home defence and from a lineout close to the line scrum half Jonathan Howells crossed for his first try which went unconverted. But we then shot ourselves in the foot when we put a Baglan scrum under pressure we allowed the scrum half to break a tackle and feed the openside flanker who sped away to score the decisive try that won them the game. But we did not give up and Howells again crossed for a try. In the final minute we scored another good try by Evans out wide for a final score of 28pts to 21 and a losing bonus point which could have been more.
