Fixture

It was not to be but a draw game was the right result as both teams battled hard for the points. On a windy day with the wind blowing across the field The Corrwg started the brighter but Baglan weathered the early storm and took the lead with a well struck penalty by their outside half. With both side keeping the ball alive we then won a penalty ourselves which outside half Alun Newell slotted for his first points of the day. This remained to score until late in the half and after some pressure by us we scored a try at the foot of the posts by veteran Centre Rhodri Milsom and Newell gaoled it for a 10pts to 3 lead.Aminute latter we had a chance to extend our lead with a penalty in front of the posts but the reliable Newell missed.

Early into the half Baglan brought on their player coach a ex Aberavon prop and he steadied their scrum and turned it into their strong point they soon scored a try which they converted to draw level then went back into the lead with a penalty. Newell then tied up the game with a penalty. With the game ebbing and flowing late into the game Baglan then scored a try but missed the conversion. going into the final minutes and 5 points adrift we staged a late attack but Baglan pushed us back to defend deep in our 22 where the won a line out. but from the lineout Ryan Rowlands broke away on a run up to halfway we recycled the ball put it across the line where Josh Thomas drove on passed inside to Ben Evans who almost made the line he was  stopped short but found Newell on his shoulder who crossed for the try at the posts with the conversion a formality for the reliable Newell the wind caught the ball and pushed it wide of the posts. From the restart we gathered the ball and put it out for a drawn game. Word must be said about the referee he was excellent kept the game flowing and had a great rappore with the players.
