Resolven got off to a flying start with a penalty, a try and conversion in the first five minutes for a deserved 10 point lead. But we got back into the game with a individual try by scrum half Jonathan Howells who took a quick penalty and raced away for a try which fly half Robbie Watkins converted.but we pressed the self destruct button again just before half time when after a few attempts we let in our visitors for their second try of the match which they converted for a ten point lead. With both teams looking for their first wing of the season it became a dour affair. After a bad injury to scrum half Jonathan Howells who sustained a double fracture to the jaw we introduced young Arron Loveday from our youth team. Arron showed his class when he received the ball some 50 metes out and with some devastating pace and stepping to score under the posts for fullback Alun Newell to convert to level the scores at 17 points each.with the game going into the final minutes the referee gave a few very strange decisions against and two close range penalties for our visitors to run out winners by 6 points.
