We traveled to Banwen with only 14 players and i must be fair they gave everything in a hard battle and they can hold their heads up high. It was hard to take when up to nine players made themselves unavailable, i know Banwen is a hard place to go but i will say no more on it. Banwen run the ball from everywhere but some heroic defence kept them down to 22 first half points and we replied with a try by centre Alun Newell and a touchline conversion from Ben Evans. The second half was much more like the first half with Banwen well on top and the boys kept tackling but run out of defenders at time. We then lost Ryan Rowlands to the bin for a offside offence and then Steven Lewis was also yellow carded after he retaliated for a punch to the eye when he was caught at the bottom of a ruck. But we finished the game on a high note when after a very good forward drive through numerous phases' we scored a try by Scrum half Steffan Williams.
Next game will be on Saturday 4th March home to Crynant, lets hope we get the boys who are injured back and also some of the Banwen flu victims will have recovered.
