Tonmawr stay on top of the league with this deserved win over us and it gets no easier when we entertain second in the table Vardre next Saturday. With a minutes silence held in honour of our ex chairman Jeffrey Boney Jones and the wife Susan Czajkowski of ex prop Martin Czajkowski.Tonmawr kicked off and put us under some early pressure but we kept them out. After 10 minutes they took the lead from a penalty for a high tackle which was over the should from behind and the do not look that bad to me. Ton then increased their lead with a try but the conversion was missed. We hit back with a penalty by full back Ben Evans who is having a indifferent season with the boot he seems to get the hard ones but miss the easier ones. Ton then had another penalty for offside, we then hit back with a try after some good work by our pack we won a scrum 5 and the ball found outside half for the day Rhodri Milsom who crossed over but a easy conversion was missed by Evans along with another penalty. We were then made to pay the price for our missed kicks when Tonmawr pack pushed us over for a try which they converted for a 18pts to 8 half time lead.
We kicked off the second half and won a penalty in front of the posts but again Evans missed. With both teams trying to attack at every opportunity it was Tonmawr who looked to be on top. They scored two late tries for a bonus point win but we did not lay down and continued to press their line and for the last 5 minutes who pounded away but could not score and during this period Tonmawr lost their replacement wing for coming in at the side and from a series of scrums we failed to add to our score through some good defense.
Next week we are at home to second place Vardre RFC who inflicted our heaviest defeat of the season a couple of weeks ago, Kick off is 2-30pm ALL SUPORT WELCOME.
